Yesterday Joe and I finally got around to working on the backyard and cleaning up all the plants that died during our colder-than-normal Houston winter. We have a palm and the leaves are all dead so I went over to trim them off. I kept seeing a little flutter of movement in the center of the palm and, since I'm afraid of bugs and snakes, I keep a fierce look out for any unaccounted for movements in the yard. Much to my amazement, when I looked closely, I saw 4 baby birds!! I had never actually seen a baby bird up close. Here are a few pictures of the baby birds and a couple of the momma bird coming up on the bush to feed the babies. I guess the dead leaves will have to stay until the birds fly away!
