In January I went to England for 9 days and had a wonderful time visiting with Tina, Nick, Tori and Lillia. Unfortunately, Joe couldn't go with me because of his opera schedule. I definitely don't want to take a trip that long again without him. I missed him so much! We finally hooked up Skype though and we were able to video chat almost every day.
Because I went during the school term, Tori was in school the entire time and I didn't get to spend much time with her. We did get the chance to shop one afternoon for a little while but it wasn't as much as usual. Lillia is now in school 3 days a week, takes swimming lessons, has a Gym-Minis class and ballet on Saturday. She's so smart! I was amazed at how much she knows and how incredible her vocabulary is. She never tires of asking "why?" I also can't believe how proficient she is at the iPhone! She definitely missed her Uncle Joe and asked about him every day!
Most of our outings focused on food: Shapla Indian in Alresford, the buttery breakfast baguettes, lunch with Sharon at the Grapevine in Odiham, King's Chinese take-away and a lovely dinner at the Golden Pot w/Clive and Sharon. Tina also cooked a couple of incredibly scrumptious dinners! One afternoon, I went to see The King's Speech while Tina took Lillia to swimming lessons. What a fantastic movie and so cool to see it in England! I loved that the movie theater had assigned seating!
Not sure when we'll get back to England but we are looking forward to seeing Tina and Lillia in April in Connecticut.
Settling in for her afternoon nap with the piggy pillow from Uncle Joe and Auntie Amanda and her new Raggedy Ann specially made for Lillia with pink hair to match her room and "I Love You" embroidered in a heart on her chest with her name underneath. She loved her new dollie!
She's only 3 but Lillia can already give you "the look!"
Sweetness playing with the iPhone
A trip to Tina's is not complete without an outing to Newlyns Farm Shop to get some yummies including flap jacks to bring home for Joe
Lillia in her uniform on the way to school
Tina's house is called Rosemary Cottage and it's on The Street. I love the name of it!
The next time we visit they should be in their new house: One Moor View.
Crashed on the way home after school
Tori and Lillia - such adorable sisters!
