New Year's Eve with the Rosenzweigs and the Miras

We spent New Year's Eve with our friends Doug and Jennifer (and their sons, Zachary and Jacob) and Jean-Marc and Kris (and their son, Harrison). Jennifer made Osso Bucco, risotto, asparagus and homemade ice cream. The meal was amazing! Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of Jennifer, Kris or me! We all commented that we knew we definitely weren't as young as we once were because Jean-Marc fell asleep on the floor at 10 (or maybe even before!) and none of us had any burning desire to stay up past midnight.

The bottle of wine shown below is one that Doug received as a gift for his Bar Mitzvah which was 27 years ago! He had never taken proper care of it and had been saving for years with the thought that someday he would open it. Well, someday came this New Year's Eve. I didn't taste it but Doug and Jean-Marc said it was horrid and, more or less, tasted like bad port. The sad part is Jean-Marc said if the bottle had been cared for under all the proper conditions, temperatures, etc., it would have been worth $400 or $500!!! Of course, what 13 year old is going to care about a bottle of wine! He was probably much more interested in video games and girls!
