France – Day 4 (Sunday, December 28, 2008): Joe’s First Day of Skiing

According to Joe, there are some things that a 40 year old should not start, and after today, he thought skiing might be one of them. When Amanda asked if he fell a lot, Joe said he really didn’t fall that much but falling wasn’t the problem anyway. Getting up was the problem! He said it was also disconcerting to see 3 and 4 year old kids whizzing by him at lightening speed with absolutely no fear. We decided in the abundance of caution to obtain an additional trip medical insurance policy so that should something happen to Joe while he was skiing we would have the ability to get him back to the US. We laughed because we thought realistically Joe would be fine and Amanda, the klutz that she is, would probably break her ankle or arm stepping off a curb or slipping on ice. Fortunately, there was no need for the policy! Here is Joe getting ready to go to his first day of ski school.

Up close Joe looked a little traumatized.

Here are pictures of the girls getting ready to go to the first day of ski school. Unfortunately, Megan had a pre-existing hip injury which hampered her skiing so she had to turn her skis back in and ended up stuck with Amanda and Tina during the day while Tori skiied. Hopefully she wasn't too bored.

For dinner, Nick and Joe ventured to town and brought back pizza from Pizzalino's. It was quite tasty! Then we watched Crocodile Dundee 3. Yes, I know. We are in a delightful ski village in the French Alps and we succumbed to watching total crap on t.v. There simply is no excuse!
