France - language barrier

One of our favorite stories of this trip involves Amanda and the language barrier i.e. her difficulty in recalling her high school French.

Amanda and Tina were shopping in Les Gets and decided to go into a local patissier.
Amanda went in and proudly ordered pain du chocolate for her and Tina. Amanda paid and took her bag of pain and the lady called out "madame" and pointed to the other bag. Apparently Amanda had ordered "douze" (12) instead of "deux" (2). Needless to say, we had spare pain du chocolate for that day.
